Products and technology increase efficiency in warehouses, including Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs), Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs), Conveyor Systems, and more.

The Problem

Needed a partner to collaborate on their 3D model prototype for an AGV (Automated Guided Vehicle) chassis, to technically enhance the design, then produce it at scale.

The internal team specialized in prototyping but needed an expert to collaborate and solve complex manufacturing challenges with the technical knowledge, breadth of services, and capacity to meet demand and bring the prototype to market.

Solution

The Metalworking Group (MWG) created a cross functional team to ensure MWG capabilities matched the customer’s need and then developed the project timeline.

Using MWG’s New Product Launch Process, they were able to work through all technical details, offer ‘design for manufacture’ suggestions to reduce costs, and get the product to First Article testing ahead of schedule

Results

Enabled the customer to beat competition by getting to market faster and successfully delivered First Articles that were approved by the customer.

Scaled with the customer to increase capacity and meet strong demand.

MWG continues to develop the build plan for 2023 based on the FA approvals.
