Increasing Capacity and Efficiencies Through Enhanced Processes and Weld Robots

CHALLENGE

Metalworking Group was contracted by a bulk data storage manufacturer that designs and produces racking, wall mounts, panels, cabinets, and enclosures for Data Centers for technology corporations with big server rooms.

The manufacturer experienced surging customer demand within a limited timeframe. They were not able to appropriately flex their internal capacity to meet the demand in the time needed to deliver the orders. They needed a contract manufacturer that could produce quality products while remaining nimble and adapting to the ever-changing circumstances of their business.

SOLUTION

The Metalworking Group (MWG) engineers, sales team, and senior leadership collaborated with the manufacturer’s team to develop a process and solution for both the short-term demand as well as ongoing production needs.

MWG converted their Semi-Automated Motoman Weld Robots to efficiently weld aluminum, simultaneously increasing output and quality of production. MWG explored new options and sourced material to reduce costs.

RESULTS

The client experienced increased efficiencies and doubled output due to the enhanced processes and conversion of the Motoman Weld Robot. They also saw decreased costs with sourced material.
