A clean energy manufacturer specializing in tankless water heating systems for industries like hospitality, healthcare, and retail was struggling with high costs and inconsistent quality from an overseas metal parts supplier. Tasked with finding a better solution, their supply chain manager searched for a U.S.-based partner who could improve quality, reduce cost, and boost production efficiency

Referred by an existing MWG client, the manufacturer connected with Metalworking Group (MWG). MWG’s certified welding capabilities and certifications, experienced engineering team, and production capacity aligned with the manufacturer’s needs. MWG’s highly skilled certified welding technicians used both metal inert gas (MIG) and tungsten inert gas (TIG) welding for the job. Together, MWG and the customer optimized design patterns, matched custom paint specs, and set up a dedicated assembly line to streamline the build process for heater enclosures. MWG’s MIG and TIG-certified welders ensured precision and durability and custom packaging protected the product during transit.

MWG delivered 500 high-quality enclosures on time, meeting both cost and quality goals. Improved assembly efficiency helped the manufacturer accelerate time to market, fulfill more customer orders, and secure a new large commercial account. The successful transition to MWG also allowed the company to meet its sales targets and maintain inventory during a critical growth phase — all while reshoring production to the U.S.
